Ex-APC legal adviser dismisses claims of Tinubu weaponising poverty
Former All Progressives Congress (APC) National legal Adviser, Mr Babatunde Ogala, has dismissed claims that the President Bola Tinubu-led administration has weaponised poverty in the country.
Ogala, a Senior Legal Counsel to President Tinubu and Grand Patron of Renewed Hope Global, made the remarks last weekend at a dinner in Abuja organised by Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to celebrate Tinubu’s mid-term anniversary .
In his remarks at the event with the theme; “Two Years of Impact: Honoring Mr President and the Voices of Renewed Hope,” Ogala equally dismissed the claims that President Tinubu is disconnected from the reality.
He further stated that contrary to the narratives by the opposition, the Tinubu administration had delivered landmark achievements reflecting a deliberate and strategic commitment to national transformation.
“The achievements in education, health, economy, and infrastructure are visible to all Nigerians,” Ogala said, commending Nigerians, including diaspora members; “for their continued faith in the APC and the administration in spite of limited political appointments.”
“We appreciate the Renewed Hope Diaspora for promoting the government, the party, and the country internationally,” he added.
While assuring that the administration remained on track with its policies and reforms, Ogala reaffirmed the government’s dedication to setting Nigeria on a path of sustainable progress.
Similarly, chief host of the dinner and former Director of the APC Diaspora Campaign Directorate, Mr Ade Omole, emphasised that the event was about talking truth to power, not mere praise singing.
Omole, who is also the Convener of Renewed Hope Global said: “The Tinubu administration is not just counting years but weighing its impact.”
He added that progress has not only emerged but endured under Tinubu’s leadership.
Special Adviser to President Tinubu on General Duties representing Vice President Kashim Shettima, Aliyu Modibo, lauded Tinubu’s unparalleled commitment to ensuring a Nigeria where all interests were protected.
Mustapha Abdullahi, Director General of Energy Commission of Nigeria on Solarisation Initiative was also at the event which had in attendance APC Chieftains, government appointees and State governments representatives among others.
