Exolar Energy Installs 80 kW Rooftop Solar Plant at Delhi’s Uttara Guruvayurappan Temple – Asia Pacific
Exolar Energy Pvt. Ltd., one of the fastest growing energy startups in Delhi NCR, declares the installation of an 80 kW rooftop on-grid solar power plant at the sacred Uttara Guruvayurappan Temple in Delhi.
The milestone in green spiritual infrastructure, the project was inaugurated this week by temple officials and community leaders.
The facility consists of 136 high-efficiency Vikram Solar TOPCON bifacial panels, backed by Luminous Grid-Tied Inverters, and will generate around 8,400 units a month and 100,800 units a year. This translates into INR 8.06 lakhs in annual savings and 78,400 kg of CO₂ reduction—amounting to growing more than 3,700 trees annually.
With this initiative, Uttara Guruvayurappan Temple is part of a growing league of iconic religious institutions—such as Akshardham Temple (Delhi), Shirdi Sai Baba Temple (Maharashtra), Golden Temple (Amritsar), and Moinuddin Chishti Dargah (Ajmer)—that are adopting clean energy as part of their sustainability commitment.
Working with Exolar Energy has proved to be an easy and satisfactory experience for us. Having a solar roof is a decision that is in line with our temple values and permanent lifestyle of conservation of nature. We hope that this enterprise motivates more communities to adopt environmentally friendly initiatives. said Spokesperson, Uttara Guruvayurappan Temple Committee.
Speaking on the occasion, Arvind Kumar, Founder, Exolar Energy, said “It’s inspiring to see how spiritual sites all across India are turning to solar energy—not just to power their temples, but also as a way to show respect for nature. From the Golden Temple in Amritsar to Shirdi Sai Baba Temple and even the Moinuddin Chishti Dargah in Ajmer, these sacred places have already switched to clean, renewable energy. With the Government of India planning for 132 GW of solar energy capacity by March 2026, efforts like these temples turning solar are not only symbolic but also strategic. Every roof matters, and when houses of worship take the lead, it makes communities in general look at their engagement with sustainability differently. We at Exolar Energy are humbled to be part of this meaningful transformation—to bring solar energy to locations that light up millions of lives every day.
The project is all a part of Exolar Energy’s bigger picture to bring solar solutions to cultural and community centers all over India.
India is rapidly moving towards a greener future, and projects like this play a big role in helping the country increase its use of renewable energy. By focusing on cleaner, community-based energy solutions, we’re not just powering buildings—we’re giving more control to the people.
As more spiritual centers start to accept sustainability, Exolar Energy’s project becomes a great example of progress, showing that faith and forward-thinking can go hand in hand. Switching to solar energy helps cut down on pollution, and it also encourages communities to think beyond old traditions and try new, innovative ideas that can help future generations.
