The makers of the upcoming Malayalam film, Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira, has finally dropped an update on its theatrical release. It has been confirmed that the movie, starring Fahadh Faasil and Kalyani Priyadarshan in lead roles, will hit the big screen on August 29.

The filmmakers said on the most recent poster that the movie will be released in theatres on Onam 2025. Ashiq Usman, the film’s producer, had previously stated that the movie would be released in May, but for unspecified reasons, it was delayed. In the days leading up to its theatrical debut, a teaser or trailer is anticipated.

Althaf Salim is the director of Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira, which is touted to be a romantic comedy drama. The director has penned the script for the movie. Vinay Forrt, Lal, Dhyan Sreenivasan, and Revathi are expected to play important parts. Suresh Krishna, Babu Antony, Johny Antony, and Lakshmi Gopalaswamy are among the supporting cast of the movie, which began filming in April 2024.

Malayalam releases in Onam 2025

Mohanlal’s Hridayapoorvam is one of the other eagerly awaited Malayalam films that will be showing in theatres for Onam. August 28 will mark the theatrical debut of the family entertainer, which also has important roles from Malavika Mohanan, Sangeeth Prathap, Sangita Madhavan Nair, Lalu Alex, and Janardhanan.

Lokah Chapter One: Chandra, another film starring Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead role, is also aiming for an Onam release. This movie, which is supported by Wayfarer Films, the production company of Dulquer Salmaan, also stars Naslen. This film, directed by Dominic Arun, will be expected to include cameos from Dulquer Salmaan and Tovino Thomas. 

In addition to these, Maine Pyar Kiya, featuring Hridhu Haroon and Preity Mukhundhan, is scheduled for release during the holiday season. At the same time, Shane Nigam’s sports drama Balti will make its debut. Overall, Malayalam moviegoers have a lot of options for what to see in theatres during this joyous time of year.
