Fayetteville Turns Up the Volume With Music Cities Convention
More than 300 delegates from around the world will descend on Fayetteville this month during the Music Cities Convention Sept. 16 to 18. The conference is a forum for thought leaders from the worlds of music, venue management, city planning, economic development, tourism and academia, as well as nonprofit and public-sector organizations, to explore how music can enhance community identity and drive economic growth.
The conference is sold out, but the community is invited to the closing reception Sept. 18 at George’s Majestic Lounge for a free program packed with Arkansas talent. Doors open at 5 p.m.
Historic Dyess, the Boyhood Home of Johnny Cash, will present Dylan Earl and Erin Enderlin, two outstanding Arkansas musicians deeply inspired by the Man in Black. Earl performs 5:40 p.m. to 6:40 p.m., and Enderlin performs 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Explore Pine Bluff will present the official closing event of the Music Cities Convention, “Naturally, Arkansas!,” hosted by the Music Education Initiative. The celebration will feature an incredible lineup that includes Paige Johnsey, March to August, Michael Hosier, the Rev. Greg Spradlin, Baang and Pura Coco.
