Fèis Chataibh’s summer week is full of music, laughter and fun
Glorious weather marked the start of Fèis Chataibh’s summer week, which ran from Monday to Friday, July 7-11.
In partnership with The Young Karers East Sutherland (TYKES) and Brora Youth Room, Fèis Chataibh delivered musical tuition and fun to over 120 young people on site in Golspie and in Brora.

Twenty-one people were employed in various vital roles, the majority of whom came from Sutherland or Easter Ross.
Fèis Chataibh also collaborated with Golspie Youth Action to provide free lunches for those who wanted them.
A team of volunteers made sure that more than 60 fèis participants were fed each day, and all the attendees were offered as much fresh fruit as they could eat during the week.
Free transport was provided for 40 participants from Helmsdale, Brora, Tain, Dornoch, and Bonar Bridge, with support from local businesses.
High Life Highland’s active schools coordinator, Elissa Stevenson, helped to entertain and engage the energetic young people during the lunch break with games and sports.
On Tuesday evening, the Tutors’ Ceilidh gave the local community a chance to come together and enjoy the music of some of Scotland’s most talented musicians.

A Fèis Chataibh spokesperson said: “Our standout memory of the whole week was the enthusiasm and smiles of our attendees. Seeing them have such a good time really made it all worthwhile.
“We couldn’t have achieved any of this without the hard work and support of so many people and organisations.
“We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped in any way, including every participant and parent. We look forward to seeing you soon.”
