First film festival will be launched at Kildare venues this week

The inaugural Naas Film Festival is a new cultural event designed to position Naas as a destination for filmmakers and film lovers.

Set to take place over Easter weekend 2025 (April 16 to 21), the event will bring together creatives and visitors, near and far, offering an immersive experience through screenings, networking opportunities, industry talks, music events and a film themed table quiz.

The festival’s main venues are Lawlors of Naas, Dara Cinema, Naas Library and Cultural Centre and 33 South Main Street, Naas, and all are centrally located and within walking distance, allowing attendees to experience the hospitality of the town. The events are: Wednesday, April 16 8pm – 33 South Main, Mooney Does Movies

Johnny Mooney, Baz Black, Wayne Byrne, Charlie McGettigan.

Thursday, April 17 – 6.30pm – Naas Library; Streets of Fire film screening / introduction talk by Wayne Byrne and Paul Farren

Friday, April 18 – 8.00pm – Lawlors of Naas

Table Quiz (Film Themed)

Saturday, April 19 – 6pm– Braveheart Screening at Dara Cinema

Sunday, April 20 – 10am to 4.00pm, Lawlors, 3 blocks of short Films

Blocks of shorts at held in Ballroom 3 – 10am, 12pm and 2pm

Sunday, April 20 – 11.00am to 4.00pm, Lawlors Courtroom 4 th floor, 5 x talks

-11 am ‘Fran The Man’ film lead Darragh Humphreys and Fran writer, Richie
