First six players for preliminary Olympic rosters to be revealed Monday
The 2026 Winter Olympics are just around the corner, and we’re set to learn which hockey players will represent their countries in Italy.
Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported Sunday that the 12 countries that have qualified for the Olympic hockey tournament will reveal the first six players on their preliminary rosters on Monday.

Switzerland
France
Group B
Finland
Italy
Sweden
Slovakia
Group C
Denmark
Germany
Latvia
USA
All 12 announcements are expected to come at various times throughout the day.
Eight countries qualified through the IIHF World Ranking, Italy qualified as the host, and Slovakia, Latvia and Denmark made the cut through qualifying tournaments.
The 2026 Games will mark the first time that NHL players suit up in the Olympics since Sochi 2014.
Canada won the gold medal in 2014, led by a star-studded roster that included Sidney Crosby, Carey Price and Drew Doughty.
Finland won the gold in 2022 with a tournament-clinching win over the Russian Olympic Committee team.
The men’s hockey tournament will take place from Feb. 11 to 22 in Milan at the 2026 Games.
