First Steps’ Silver Surfer Actress Addresses The MCU Film’s “Phenomenal” Cast And “Big Universe”

Set to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2025 with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Julia Garner will bring the Silver Surfer to the big screen for the first time in almost 20 years. She is joined in the cast by Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Natasha Lyonne, and John Malkovich.

Recently, Garner shared her excitement not just over joining the MCU, but joining alongside a talented roster of actors. The star explained:

“I mean, just how big it is. It’s a big universe, and I feel so grateful I get to be a little part of it to be honest. Everybody on that job, I think the casting is phenomenal, and they’re so wonderful. And [director] Matt Shakman is amazing. I’m very excited.”

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is the first MCU movie to feature Marvel’s First Family in the same live-action universe as the Avengers. It introduces the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s version of Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Ben Grimm, and Johnny Storm, and precedes Phase 6’s Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.
