Latvia’s wondrous adventure story Flow is dominating awards season. Just two days after winning a Golden Globe, the acclaimed animated cat film is now streaming on digital platforms. Keep reading to find out how you can watch Flow from the comfort of your home.

Directed by Latvian director Gints Zilbalodis, Flow follows the tale of a brave cat after his home is devastated by a great flood. According to the synopsis, “Teaming up with a capybara, a lemur, a bird, and a dog to navigate a boat in search of dry land, they must rely on trust, courage, and wits to survive the perils of a newly aquatic planet.” The film is further described as “a profound meditation on the fragility of the environment and the spirit of friendship and community.”

The film features no dialogue, a choice that Zilbalodis explained to People as being part of its appeal. “Because there’s no dialogue, that makes it more universal,” he said. “It really transcends any cultural boundaries, which means that everyone can understand it. I think that’s something really cool about animation, that it can be understood by pretty much everyone.”

If you haven’t seen Flow yet, now’s the perfect time to catch up before the upcoming Critics Choice Awards, 2025 Oscars, and more.

What Awards Has Flow Won So Far?

At the 82nd Annual Golden Globes, Flow triumphed over major Disney blockbusters like Inside Out 2 and Moana 2 to win Best Animated Feature. With its impressive awards season run so far, the film is a strong contender at the Oscars in March, where it could take home both the Best Animated Feature and Best International Feature awards, after Latvia chose Flow as its entry for the latter category.

Variety reported if Flow or any non-Disney film wins Best Animated Feature at the 2025 Academy Awards, it would mark the longest drought for Disney in the category’s history. Disney/Pixar has never gone more than two years without a win. Their last victory came in 2021 with Encanto, but the past two years saw Pinocchio (2022) and The Boy and the Heron (2023) take home the award.

In addition to its Golden Globe win, Flow has already captured Best Animated Film at the 37th European Film Awards, the New York Film Critics Circle Awards, the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards, and the National Board of Review Awards.
