Forres Town Hall to host Moray Operatic and Dramatic Society pantomime Robin Hood and the Knights of the Flat Table
Robbing the rich to give to the poor will be one popular theme of a pantomime set to warm hearts this winter.
The Moray Operatic and Dramatic Society (MODS) is back at Forres Town Hall from December 11-13 for their fourth show in the venue – ‘Robin Hood and the Knights of the Flat Table’ – featuring more adventure, heroes and laughs.
Heather Hatch as Robin Hood.
MODS secretary, Fiona Grant, said: “Come join MODS this December when we bring the panto spirit back to Forres!
“Our whole company is involved either on or off stage, panto needs everyone involved.
“Among the players is Forres’ own Heather Hatch as the titular Robin Hood, Naomi Dunbar as Marion, Sam Law as The Sheriff and Chris Hewett as Tuck.”
The brand-new panto adds a comedic twist to the legend of Robin Hood, with bungling knights and magical mischief.
Classic pantomime ingredients include the outrageous Dame Mother Tuck, slapstick sidekicks, and cheeky animal characters, alongside songs and call-and-response.
Naomi Dunbar as Maid Marian.
The Sheriff of Nottingham has a plan: flatten the forest, unleash a flatpack frenzy and force Maid Marian to marry him. However, Marian’s heart belongs to Robin Hood, the dashing outlaw with a bow, a cause and a knack for dodging taxes.
With the help of his Merry Men, Robin must stop the Sheriff’s villainous schemes, save the forest and win the girl. But with knights wielding Allen keys and woodland creatures on strike, nothing is quite as it seems.
Colourful costumes, magical effects and a collapsing flat pack table promise big stage moments for the whole family.
“With laughter, music, and festive sparkle for all ages, Robin Hood and the Knights of the Flat Pack Table is the perfect Christmas outing,” said Fiona.
“Packed with sing-a-long numbers, slapstick fun and plenty of chances for the audience to cheer the heroes and boo the villains, it promises a magical night out for everyone to enjoy together.”
Chris Hewett as Dame Mother Tuck.
