Forum in Avaza – a platform for developing cultural and humanitarian ties

The Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, is attracting the attention of the entire world. Hosting such a high-profile forum in our country is a vivid testament to the broad international support for Turkmenistan’s initiatives aimed at strengthening effective relations in the interests of ensuring universal well-being and security, and activating cooperation in areas such as sustainable energy, transport, ecology, environmental protection, and the cultural-humanitarian sphere.

The Youth Forum held as part of this conference is one of the events that deserves special attention from us, the youth. Speakers at the Forum noted that under the wise leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the country is undertaking consistent work to comprehensively support the youth, who are the driving force behind reforms and innovations, and that their ideas and aspirations for peace play an important role in overcoming the problems faced by their countries. They called on young people to use the current platform to exchange experiences and develop innovative solutions. During the forum, the Turkmen side was solemnly presented with the Youth Declaration.

This was detailed in a conversation with Gulshat Pirjanova, a lecturer at the Faculty of Tourism at the Turkmen State Institute of Culture, who participated as a volunteer interpreter in the Youth Forum and other events held within the framework of the Conference.

“Youth plays a special role in the modern world, particularly in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations. These goals cover a wide range of areas, including important fields such as ensuring access to quality education, protecting the environment, and promoting economic growth. In President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s work ‘Youth – the Support of the Homeland,’ particular attention is paid to the role of the younger generation in the life of our society, detailing their achievements and high ideals.

The Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries is a major international forum. Teachers and students of the Turkmen State Institute of Culture actively participate in its work. Among them, I would like to highlight my students Nurana Annaeva and Aysoltan Abaeva, who demonstrate their translation skills by assisting numerous guests of the Conference from abroad.

We are immensely grateful to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag, and the President of the country for placing great trust in youth and creating opportunities for participation in international forums, allowing our positive voice to be heard regarding global events.

It should be noted that Turkmenistan’s cooperation with the United Nations is developing across all spheres, including the cultural field.

This is clearly evidenced by the scale of the cultural and humanitarian events organized within the framework of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, in particular the Friendship Concert and the National Cuisine Festival. One of the main events of the Conference’s cultural program will be a festive concert uniting cultural and artistic figures from friendly countries on one stage.

In performances at such events, the national folklore and dance ensemble “Miras” of the Turkmen State Institute of Culture vividly reflects the history, spiritual values, and traditions of our people. These performances pave the way for activating creative ties through cultural exchange with other countries, strengthening the principles of mutual understanding, and further solidifying the foundation of friendly relations.

The cultures of friendly countries have their own unique features, but they are united by a common history, cultural, and spiritual values. Today, these countries conduct extensive work to preserve and popularize their rich cultural heritage. At the same time, there is significant progress in their contemporary art, cinema, music, and literature. This clearly demonstrates that these countries are actively integrating into the global cultural system.”
