Free music classes for toddlers in Govanhill proving popular
Little Noise, organised by Big Noise Govanhill, is aimed at children up to the age of three.
It helps them engage with music and develop early cognitive skills in a safe space with their parents and carers.
The drop-in sessions are also a chance for parents and carers to meet other families in their community and spend quality time with their little ones.

Little Noise sessions, at the Neighbourhood Centre in Govanhill, encourage children to listen and copy sounds, enhance their physical development and coordination, and develop early social skills such as choosing, taking turns, and playing together.
Little Noise is open to those living or working in Govanhill and runs every Tuesday at 1.15pm and every Thursday at 10.30am at the Neighbourhood Centre in Govanhill.

Oliver Pitt, who comes to Little Noise in Govanhill with his one-year-old niece Mona, said: “She just loves it, she’s really into music in general, and it’s a good regular thing to come to.
“I’ve met quite a lot of people in the area through coming to Little Noise and now we’re really good friends.
“The musicians who run it are great and it’s definitely one of the better classes to go to, and it’s free, which makes a massive difference.”
Alison Gornall, head of centre at Big Noise Govanhill, said: “Little Noise is a wonderful way for babies and toddlers to discover the joy and magic of music alongside their parents or carers.
“Music has been shown to be a great way to help our little ones with their motor skills as well as their cognitive abilities – and it is a lot of fun as well.
“We know it can be hard to be a parent of young children, so we love welcoming families along and seeing friendships and support networks develop.
“It is another way that we are here for the Govanhill community that we are part of, and we would be delighted to welcome new people along.”
