2025 is shaping up as a blockbuster year for electric vehicles in India, with the government greenlighting automakers to supercharge EV adoption. Every major car manufacturer is either already in the EV game or gearing up to jump in. Here’s a rundown of the most exciting EVs set to hit the roads this year.
Tata Harrier EV
Tata Motors has confirmed that the Harrier EV will be launched on June 3. The Indian manufacturer had revealed the EV SUV at the 2025 Auto Expo. Tata Motors had earlier confirmed that it will offer a driving range of over 500 kilometres. It will be available with a single and dual motor setup, along with an all-wheel-drive system. The Harrier EV will be packed with features like ADAS, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, etc.

Kia Clavis EV
Kia recently launched the internal combustion engine version of the Carens Clavis and will soon launch its eco-friendly EV version. It will be the first mainstream seven-seater EV. Kia has not yet revealed the specifications, but the EV MPV could offer two battery options like its cousin Creta Electric. The Carens Clavis EV is expected to offer a range of 400 to 500 km.

Mahindra XUV 3X0 EV
Mahindra is working on the XUV 3X0 EV, which is going to be a placed above the XUV 400. The XUV 3X0 EV will be the most affordable EV in the Mahindra lineup. The new EV will be available with two battery packs — a 34.5 kWh battery with an expected range of 359 km and a 39.4 kWh battery with up to 456 km. The two options will be powered by an electric motor that produces 147.5 bhp and 310 Nm of torque.

Tata Sierra EV
The iconic nameplate is all the set to return and Tata Motors will introduce the EV version of Sierra. The EV will get a dual digital display, the infotainment system and the driver’s console. The dashboard will get a step design with horizontal air conditioning vents and a four-spoke steering wheel. It will get the latest safety features like six airbags, a 360-degree camera and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System. Unfortunately, the company has kept a tight lip on the battery and performance specifications.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara
The e Vitara officially broke cover at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo and will be launched in September. It is Maruti Suzuki’s first EV and one of the most anticipated vehicle of this year. The electric SUV, the e Vitara, will come in three variants: Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. As noted earlier, it will offer two battery options: a 48.8 kWh pack and a 61.1 kWh pack. The entry-level Delta variant will exclusively feature the 48.8 kWh battery, while the Zeta and Alpha variants will be equipped with the larger 61.1 kWh battery pack.
