Funds Invested in Education and Science Have Highest Public Return

Funds invested in education and science have the highest public return, but it is very difficult to assess and measure because it is very slow, said Education Minister Krasimir Valchev, addressing a panel, entitled “New Knowledge in the Media”, during the 20th World Meeting of Bulgarian Media on Saturday, organized by the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA).

“There is no doubt that if we want to live in a prosperous and good society, we have to rely on Bulgarian teachers, scientists and educators. And this is the challenge for any society. We want to raise our incomes and grow, then we have to support education, and high value-added industries that require people who can do more sophisticated things,” the Minister said.

He added that undoubtedly the coming decades will be an era of even deeper and wider digital transformations.
