G20 Summit 2023 India To Launch G20 Global Biofuel Alliance
The G20 summit begins in New Delhi and is likely to announce the Global Biofuel Alliance, G20 coordinator Harsh Vardhan Shringla said on Saturday.
According to the Centre, the proposed biofuel alliance will intensify the utilisation of sustainable biofuels even in the transport sector and would also facilitate cooperation.
The Global Biofuel Alliance has received a positive response and several G20 nations are interested in the union, added Shringla hinting at its announcement during the summit.
The G20 Coordinator emphasised that we are in a good position for the announcement of the biomass fuel unity and underlined that time is longer for deliberation among leaders.
Unlike other renewable energy Biofuels are produced over a short time span from agricultural and organic materials called ‘biomass’. Its utilisation boots the reduction of emissions and enables countries across the globe to reach their net zero carbon footprints.
Commenting on the association Arunabha Ghose, the CEO of the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW) said “The global biofuels alliance will allow work closely with countries like Brazil.
Meanwhile, the alliance was previously announced by Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas during the India Energy Week 2023 in February.
