Game on: Abu Dhabi’s Summer Sports Arena is back

Abu Dhabi: ADNEC Group, in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, has launched the fourth and largest edition of Abu Dhabi Summer Sports at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi.

Running until August 21, 2025, the event stands as the region’s largest indoor summer sports gathering, offering residents a unique opportunity to stay active in a fully air-conditioned setting.

This year’s edition aligns with the UAE’s Year of Community, seeking to encourage individuals and families to lead healthier, more connected lifestyles. Open daily from 6 am to 1 am, the event caters to all age groups with a broad spectrum of sports and wellness activities.

Major highlights in 2025

The 2025 edition presents several new features, including the Middle East debut of the globally recognized HYROX indoor fitness race, set for 19 July. This high-intensity competition is anticipated to attract gym-goers and fitness enthusiasts from across the region. Another key addition is the Club Zone, which will showcase combat and strength sports such as judo, Muay Thai, boxing, archery, and weightlifting.

Over 50 inclusive community events will be held throughout the summer, strengthening the event’s dedication to engagement across all demographics. Summer camps for children, wellness zones, and yoga and meditation sessions further widen the appeal.

Voices behind the vision

His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, explained the event as a vital platform to encourage active living and social cohesion.

Aref Hamad Al Awani remarked that, “The fourth edition of Abu Dhabi Summer Sports represents an essential opportunity for community members of all ages to engage in sports during the summer in a relaxed and safe environment. It enhances happiness and social bonds while encouraging participation in physical activity.”

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC Group, noted the event’s expanded scope, stating that, “This edition marks a major leap in performance indicators and supports the event’s position as the largest indoor summer sports initiative in the region. The event space has grown by 10 percent, now exceeding 37,000 square meters, with 52 courts and tracks to house rising demand.”

Ahmad Shaker, CEO of Capital 360 & Events, emphasized the inclusivity of the program, noting that, “We have designed world-class facilities and accessible spaces to ensure that everyone, regardless of fitness level, can benefit from the wide variety of activities offered.”

A fully immersive summer sports hub

Attendees can experience in 12 sports such as football, basketball, padel, running, badminton, volleyball, tennis, table tennis, cricket, chess, fitness, and a custom obstacle course. A specially designed 1.2 km running track with four lanes improves the indoor running experience.

In addition to regular sports activities, visitors can enjoy a wellness recovery zone, corporate group events, and a variety of on-site food options. School summer camps will also be held, incorporating physical activity with arts and crafts to encourage creativity and holistic development among children.

To streamline participation, ADNEC Group has launched a dedicated mobile app and web platform, available on Google Play and the App Store, enabling users to easily browse the schedule and book sessions in advance.
