Superdrug fans have the chance to try out a luxury perfume from the likes of Gucci and Prada without breaking the bank. For less than £10, savvy shoppers are taking advantage of what’s been dubbed the smartest and most budget-friendly ‘hack’ to test out new perfumes.
TikTok user @Squashedpickled’s video has been watched by over 1.4 million viewers as she demonstrated “the best Superdrug hack”. The offer allows shoppers to take home a sample of any of the store’s on-display perfumes or aftershave testers for a mere £7.99.
The process couldn’t be simpler – buy one of Superdrug’s Perfume Atomiser Pods in-store and have a staff member fill it up with a fragrance of choice from the selection available. As seen in Squashedpickled’s viral video, Superdrug promotes this service to shoppers in-store as her video featured a sign about the “one complimentary fill”.
The TikToker showed that after picking and paying for her pod, she chose to try Valentino Born In Roma Uomo Intense. Normally, to purchase a full bottle of this scent would set someone back £102 for 100ml at Superdrug.
Although the pods are small at just 5ml, that works out to the equivalent to roughly 65 sprays – which is plenty for everyday use. Some even said it was the perfect size to take away on holiday without travel convenience without carrying a bulky bottle around.

Not only are they super convenient, but their design is also practical, reports the Mirror. Built from “scratch-resistant plastic,” their transparent casing allows you to effortlessly monitor the amount of perfume you have remaining.
Superdrug has introduced its perfume pods, which they describe as “easy to use” with “an incredible high definition spray head that produces a fine, luxurious fragrance mist”. The company added: “The innovative Genie-S ‘pump to fill’ refill system perfectly transfers your fragrance without spills or damaging exposure to air, giving you approximately 65 sprays.”
After the initial scent runs out, customers have the option to wash the pod and replenish it with their chosen perfume from home. Superdrug staff are on hand to demonstrate the refill process when you first get your pod topped up.

Each pod is priced at £7.99. Here’s the range of colours available for selection:
A spokesperson for Superdrug confirmed to the Mirror that these pods must be bought in-store to take advantage of the free filling offer. Unfortunately, those opting for Click and Collect won’t be eligible for the complimentary fragrance.
To find out if your nearest Superdrug store stocks your preferred coloured pods, there’s an online stock checker tool available just below the ‘add to basket’ button on their website. Simply input your postcode, and the site will match it against the inventory reported by each store.
You can filter the results to display only stores with available stock near you. However, it’s important to note that this feature should serve as “an indication only”, so it’s best to act sooner rather than miss out.
