Ghanaian Musician Ayisi Returns After Quiet Career Hiatus
Ayisi
Ghanaian musician Ayisi, formerly known as A.I., has addressed his prolonged absence from the public eye, revealing he remained active in music despite stepping back from interviews and media platforms.
Speaking in a recent Joy Prime interview monitored, Ayisi acknowledged taking a break to manage personal matters but emphasized he never abandoned his craft.
“I was still recording, going to the studio—doing what I should be doing,” he stated, clarifying that his hiatus was a period of refining his skills and awaiting what he termed “the right moment” to reemerge. When questioned about his comeback, Ayisi responded firmly: “People don’t want excuses. Did I keep showing up? Yes, I did.”
Despite over a decade in the industry, Ayisi admitted struggling with limited recognition earlier in his career. “You compare yourself to others,” he shared, “but I’ve learned my journey is unique.” Now focused on purpose rather than fame, he added, “My space is my space—I’ll control it and do what I can.”
The interview concluded with Ayisi expressing contentment with his path, underscoring a shift from chasing accolades to prioritizing authenticity in his music.
