Stuart Osborne, 51, who runs the channel Under the Weather, set out to visit 50 landmarks across Glasgow in a single day using only the city’s bike lanes.

The content creator, who usually documents camping and outdoor adventures around Scotland, took on the challenge after a suggestion from his father, Alan.

Stuart said: “We were talking about the new bike lanes and he thought of the idea for the video. We wanted to see how many Glasgow attractions you could see without going on a road and we thought we could get 50.”

Although they didn’t track the exact distance, Staurt completed the route on a Voi e-bike, including a stop for lunch, in only four hours.

He believes the challenge could be a fun way for others to explore the city without needing their own bike.

He said: “You can rock up and do it.

“With the electric bikes it isn’t particularly difficult. It can be a fun day out.”

The challenge highlighted both the convenience and enjoyment of Glasgow’s biking infrastructure, although Stuart said more signage would be helpful to those travelling on two wheels.

He said: “The bike lanes themselves could have a few more signs, because on a few times I was crossing at the wrong bit.

“But with some more time spent in the bike lanes I’m sure you get used to it.”

Among the landmarks visited, the Transport Museum stood out as a favourite.

Stuart explained: “You’ve got the museum itself, the tall ship, the new bridge, and you can get food.

“For anyone planning to do this themselves I would suggest stopping there.”

The challenge was designed to encourage people to explore different parts of Glasgow and to push back against negative perceptions of the city.

Staurt said: “There has been the perception recently that Glasgow’s a no-go zone but we didn’t spot any of that on the cycle.”

Looking to the future, Stuart wants to go a step further and get more locations ticked off: “I’m going to do it again and try to get to 100 locations.”

“It’s just a bit of fun and I think maybe some other people should as well. It’s a really nice way to spend a day.”
