GlobalLogic expands India workforce with focus on GenAI and GCC growth, ETGCC
Piyush Jha, Group VP and MD said that the growth of GCCs across industries in India is a major business driver.GlobalLogic, a Hitachi Group company in the digital engineering and product development space, plans to expand its India workforce from more than 15,000 professionals to 20,000 by the end of 2026. The company currently employs more than 32,000 people worldwide.
The company is increasing the use of generative AI to deliver efficiency across industries such as healthcare, automotive, communications, fintech, media and industrial solutions. GlobalLogic said its tools, including VelocityAI, are enabling enterprises to reduce product development effort by between 20 and 70 per cent and shorten go-to-market timelines by about 50 per cent, the company said in a statement.
GCC and workforce strategy
Piyush Jha, Group Vice President and Managing Director, APAC at GlobalLogic, said that the growth of Global Capability Centres (GCCs) across industries in India is a major business driver. The company is also expanding in tier-II and tier-III cities as demand requires.
GlobalLogic is moving towards outcome-based billing models in software development projects, moving away from traditional time-based billing. The company is also reskilling and hiring engineers through college partnerships in India with curated training programmes.
Backed by Hitachi, GlobalLogic said it is leveraging its parent company’s research and development and domain expertise to strengthen its position in the market.
