Goa Rajya Vidnyanik Puraskar 2024-25: honoring excellence in science, innovation, societal impact

Panaji, Apr 16: The prestigious Goa Rajya Vidnyanik Puraskar (GRVP) 2024-25 will be conferred by the Minister for Science & Technology, Atanasio Monserrate, in a ceremony attended by Jose Manuel Noronha, Chairman of the Goa State Innovation Council (GSInC), and Ankit Yadav, IAS, Director of the Department of Science & Technology and Waste Management (DST&WM).

The GRVP, instituted by the Government of Goa, celebrates and honors outstanding scientists and innovators who have contributed significantly to transformative and impactful scientific advancements, particularly within Goa. The initiative seeks to inspire youth and the research community by sharing the success stories of local innovators.

This year’s awards will recognize achievements across three categories: Innovation, Environment, and Societal Impact, with each winner receiving a cash prize of Rs 2,00,000.

The winners for the GRVP 2024-25 are:

• Dr Neha Karanjkar for Innovation
• Dr Amrita Sandeep Naik for Societal impact
• Dr Srikanth Mutnuri for Environment

The awards aim to promote innovation, harness Goa’s natural resources, and encourage contributions from educational institutions, research organizations, and individual innovators. The Goa State Innovation Council and DST&WM congratulate the awardees and invite more innovators to engage with the GRVP in future editions to help foster a resilient, research-driven, and self-reliant Goa.
