The growth reflects Goa’s successful transition from a seasonal beach destination to a year-round tourism hub.
The Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, attributed this growth to a multi-faceted approach that includes expanded air connectivity, targeted international promotions, and diversified tourism experiences.
Enhanced Connectivity and Market Access
Strategic aviation partnerships have bolstered inbound traffic. Air India Express now offers direct flights connecting Goa with Kuwait and Abu Dhabi, supplementing its existing Dubai route. These efforts are complemented by active engagements with Gulf carriers and Middle Eastern markets, aligning with Goa’s broader strategy to enhance international arrivals.
Global Promotions and Strategic Partnerships
Goa Tourism has strengthened its presence in new markets through targeted campaigns and participation in major international events such as WTM London, ITB Asia in Singapore, and the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025 in Dubai. During these events, the state explored new partnerships and showcased its appeal as a year-round destination.
Beyond Beaches: Diverse Tourism Offerings
Moving beyond its beach image, Goa has diversified its portfolio with spiritual circuits, wellness retreats, and hinterland experiences. These offerings cater to high-value travellers and off-season tourists, enhancing the state’s resilience against seasonal demand fluctuations.
“Our Q1 success is not accidental — it is the result of strategic planning, industry engagement, and proactive outreach,” said Rohan A. Khaunte, Minister for Tourism, IT, E&C, Government of Goa. “We will continue to enhance our tourism value proposition with sustainability and connectivity at its core.”
