Google Store India launch: Buy Pixel phones, Watch 3, Buds Pro 2 with EMI and exchange
New Delhi: After years of relying on third-party sellers, Google has finally launched its official online store in India. The announcement came on May 29 through a blog post, confirming that Indian customers can now buy Pixel phones, watches, and earbuds directly from the company. It’s a big move in a market where smartphones are not just popular, they are everywhere.
The Google Store rollout also puts the company right into the fast lane of India’s booming e-commerce race. The store’s direct-to-consumer setup allows buyers to access Google devices without going through Flipkart or offline chains like Croma and Reliance Digital.
Pixel phones now just a click away in India
With the new Google Store, Pixel fans in India can now order devices like the Pixel 9, 9a, 9 Pro Fold, Pixel Watch 3, and Pixel Buds Pro 2. The store is offering no-cost EMI options through over 15 banks including HDFC. Buyers can also get Instant Cashback offers and take advantage of exclusive online discounts till June end.
One new feature that might attract a lot of users is the exchange program. Google has partnered with Cashify to let users trade in old devices for credit. According to Google, this could make premium phones more affordable for Indian users looking to upgrade.
Delivery and repairs, handled by Google
Google has teamed up with Blue Dart for deliveries, covering over 12,600 PIN codes in India. Most deliveries will be made within 24 to 48 hours. That’s a pretty tight timeline and could make a real difference in smaller towns where quick access to premium gadgets is usually a challenge.
The store isn’t just about buying devices. Full service support is now available directly through the Google Store, including repair requests and doorstep pickups. This level of control gives Google more room to compete with Apple, which opened its online store in India in 2020 and now runs two retail outlets in Mumbai and Delhi.
Google goes local, may go physical next
This comes as part of Google’s larger plan to grow the Pixel business in India. The company is already working on local manufacturing, a move that could boost availability and possibly bring down prices. There are also hints that Google might open its first physical stores outside the US, starting with India.
In a country where 151 million smartphones shipped last year, as per IDC, the timing of this launch seems spot on.
