Greg Hager to perform final concert for Music in the Park 2025 season – Jamestown Sun
VALLEY CITY, N.D. — Greg Hager is the final performer for this season’s Music in the City Park Bandshell in Valley City.
Hager will perform at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13. Come early and enjoy free popcorn and
water provided by First Community Credit Union.
The program will be taped live for recording purposes, according to Hager. This recording will be Hager’s 11th CD release. No other artist in North Dakota history has recorded and released more original albums than Hager. The concert will feature 11 new songs and will be the first public presentation of his new material.
No other artist has ever professionally recorded a live music concert in the state of North Dakota that was made available for sale, Hager said. The recording will be available for purchase and streaming in the fall of 2025 after final production services are completed.
The group performing with Hager consists of Erin DeVries from Marion, North Dakota, on keyboard; Nick Holden from Page, North Dakota, on steel guitar; Justin Jones, Valley City, on drums; Drew Deffenbaugh, Valley City, on lead guitar, and Wesley Gill, Fargo, on bass. Recording and production will be handled by Jay Schaefer of Propellant Studios in Fargo.
For the last 17 years, Hager has traveled the U.S. and overseas bringing North Dakota values and stories through his original songs to fairs, festivals, music halls, grandstands, parks, theaters, etc. Hager also presents concerts of gospel music.
Signed to MFG Records in Nashville, Tennessee, and nationally recognized as both the Entertainer of the Year annd the Artist of the Year with the Pro Cowboy Country Artist Association and the Academy of Western Artists, respectively, Hager says he “just wants to make a difference with his music.”
Hager invites everyone to come be a part of this event.
Each week a freewill offering is taken to support the City Park Bandshell and Music in the Park. In the event of inclement weather, the program will be moved to Valley City State University Robinson Center for the Arts.
