Gucci AW25: How To Recreate Pat McGrath’s Stocking Skin
Grace, elegance and a certain ethereal beauty have always defined the runways at Milan Fashion Week. This season, nowhere was this more apparent than Gucci’s autumn/winter 2025 show – a dreamy, grounded collection that somehow blended precision with fluidity. Crafted by Dame Pat McGrath, the beauty was diffused and weightless with no harsh lines or obvious application points. Instead, skin looked gently blurred with a natural flush and fluffed, organic eyebrow shapes.

How to create stocking skin
McGrath’s most striking detail for this season’s show had to be the skin. Fresh and radiant but crucially sans shine, artists started by misting a layer of Brume de Beauté, (a soothing, refreshing spray) over the skin. Then, moisturising products. First, the Sérum de Beauté Fluide Matifiant, followed by the thicker Baume Nourrissant Universel – a multipurpose balm suitable for skin but also lips and cuticles.

For the “stocking” effect – that smooth, slightly blurred way stockings can make the skin beneath look – McGrath instructed the team to combine three cream products: the Éternité de Beauté foundation, applied to the centre of the face; Concentré de Beauté illuminating concealer to brighten discolourations; and Gucci Glow Highlighter, a powder-gel that melts onto skin. On model’s cheeks, a subtle veil of colour (Gucci’s Blush de Beauté) created a naturally flushed effect and lipstick was lightly dabbed on lips – either the Rouge à Lèvres Satin, Rouge à Lèvres Voile or Rouge de Beauté Brillant.
