Hanson athletic hall of fame set to add five members in class of 2025 – Mitchell Republic

ALEXANDRIA, S.D. — Five new members will be added to the Hanson High School athletic hall of fame in September as part of the school’s 2025 class.

The inductees include 1966 graduate Mel Thomas, 2009 graduates Rhianna (Gullickson) Mehrer and Brigitte (Gross) Valentine, longtime coach Kim DeRouchey and the 2008 and 2009 Class B state champion girls track and field teams.

The induction event will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13 at the Hanson High School gymnasium in Alexandria. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Individuals interested in attending should RSVP no later than Aug. 31. The cost is $20 per person. Call 605-239-4387 for questions and to reserve banquet tickets.
