A Harry Potter star has opened up on how much she was paid for her role.

Fans of the novels and the blockbuster film franchise recently found out more about who will be starring in the TV adaptation for the series. Several other stars have teased their return to Hogwarts, leaving fans on their toes.

With HBO set to start filming in the coming months for the show, which will be streamed on HBO Max, some former stars have been giving their reaction to the news of the story’s comeback. Most of the TV cast has already been decided, but auditions were still being held to decide who will play the main trio of Harry, Ron and Hermione.

One star of the film series who has been spilling the beans on the news is Samantha Clinch, who landed a small role over the course of the movies. Playing the role of student Eloise Midgen, Samantha could be spotted in The Prisoner of Azkaban and The Goblet of Fire, both of which garnered billions at the box office.

As Eloise, Samantha was only seen on screen a number of times; at first, not even being given a name in her first Harry Potter stint. But her main claim in the film came when Eloise suffered a serious case of acne in The Goblet of Fire.

Samantha has taken to her social media to talk about what it was like to film part of the biggest film franchises ever. Opening up on a TikTok that has garnered just shy of 8 million views, she revealed the secrets of filming the movie and opened up on how much money she made from the stint.

“Right, let’s talk about how much we got paid as extras for the Harry Potter films and how much I got paid when I became Eloise Midgeon,” she said in the video. “There was a big jump, a big jump in cash.

“For context, in The Goblet of Fire, Daniel Radcliffe got paid $11 million—that’s nine and a half million pounds,” she added. She went on to explain that in several scenes, multiple actors would need to be brought in for banquets and school dinner scenes, which she would be a part of.

In total, she would be working around 12 hours per day, starting at 5:30am, in order to shoot some scenes in The Prisoner of Azkaban. Then she explained how much she made from the shoot: “Are you ready for how much we got paid? £35 a day, £35 – that’s £2.91 an hour.”

However, as she was given a full name in The Goblet of Fire, the amount of money she earned drastically increased. “So, when I became the part of Eloise Midgen, honestly, little did I know that day, when I was going to set, how the day would change for me and my bank account,” she explained.

“When I got this part, I then got paid £70 a day,” she said. “They doubled it, they just doubled it.”

Samantha would go on to chuckle that the money she earned was not too bad “in the grand scheme of things” and went on to praise the production staff for everything – including the “constant stream of food”.

When asked what she spent her earnings on, Samantha revealed she had bought a bottle of Classique perfume by Jean-Paul Gaultier, describing it as “nostalgia in a bottle”. She finished by revealed that she had a fantastic time on set, and that all the children did eat the meals they were given in the banquet hall.
