Here’s the all-new cast list of Nayanthara-Sundar C’s divine fantasy film

Mookuthi Amman 2, the upcoming sequel of the 2020 film by the same name, was launched by the makers on Thursday at an event held in Chennai. The film will feature actor Nayanthara reprising her lead titular role. While the 2020 film was helmed by actor-filmmaker RJ Balaji, the upcoming sequel is set to be directed by Sundar C.

Nayanthara will be joining hands with filmmaker Sundar C for the first time with the upcoming sequel of Mookuthi Amman 2. For the unversed, Nayanthara starred in 2020 film Mookuthi Amman, in which she played the titular goddess role. It was helmed by RJ Balaji who also starred in the film. Now, five years later, the makers announced the sequel, with Nayanthara playing the lead role.

The primary cast members of Mookuthi Amman 2 were announced at the film’s launch event that took place on Thursday. Kannada actor Duniya Vijay will be making his debut in Tamil and play the antagonist in Mookuthi Amman 2. Regina Cassandra, Yogi Babu, Abhinaya, Ramachandra Raju, Ajay Ghosh, Singam Puli, Vichu Viswanath, Iniya, Mynaa Nandini, and others are also part of the film.

Produced by Vels Film International, Hiphop Adhi is composing music for this film. Gopi Amarnath is the cinematographer, Fenny Oliver is the editor. Venkat Raghavan is penning dialogues, Gururaj is overseeing art works and Rajashekar is choreographing action sequences.

The film was a direct-to-OTT release and opened to positive reception upon its release. Mookuthi Amman marked RJ Balaji’s directorial debut. He is currently directing Suriya for a tentatively named film, Suriya 45.
