Honda now offers E20 compliant cars in India – Car News
Honda currently offers three car models in India including: City, Elevate, and Amaze.
Honda has upgraded its entire passenger vehicle portfolio to meet the upcoming emission norms. All the cars sold by the Japanese brand are now compatible with E20 compliant engines. This comes after the company’s latest model, the third-gen Amaze launched in December 2024, E20 compliant certification in January this year.
This means that all its current models including Elevate, City and Amaze have achieved E20 (20% Ethanol blended) Petrol compliance certification. That said, Honda claims that it has embraced E20 petrol since 2009. The company states that all Honda car models produced in India since 2009 have been E20 compliant and can run on 20% ethanol blended fuel.
Speaking on the latest achievement, Kunal Behl, Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “At Honda Cars India, we are committed to driving sustainable mobility solutions and all our cars have been E20 material compatible since Jan 2009 enabling our customers to seamlessly adopt the greener E20 fuel without any modifications. The latest compliance certification for all our current models ahead of the pan India E20 fuel introduction aligns with the Government of India’s goal to implement greener fuels.”
