New Delhi: Tarun Mansukhani’s directorial venture Housefull 5 is expected to cross the Rs 100 crore mark this week. In spite of getting mixed reviews from the fans and critics, the movie has earned well and has become the top-performing movies of Akshay Kumar post-COVID-19. His last release, Kesari: Chapter ,2 minted only Rs 12 crore on its third day.

The movie was released on June 6 and features actors such as Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Dino Morea, Ranjit, Nikitin Dheer, Chitrangda Singh, Chunky Panday, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, and Fardeen Khan. The movie also stars Akshay Kumar, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Soundarya Sharma, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead roles.

In three days of its theatrical release, the movie has grossed approximately Rs 87 crores. As per the industry tracker Sacnilk, the movie earned Rs 24 crore on its first day, Rs 31 crore on day two, and Rs 32 crore on its third day, taking the total to Rs 87 crore India net. Meanwhile, the multi-starrer comedy drama collected Rs 142.40 crore worldwide in its three-day run at the ticket window. On the other hand, its overseas collection stands at Rs 38 crore, and India gross collection at Rs 104.40 crore.

Housefull 5 had an overall Hindi occupancy rate of 39.52% on Sunday (June 8), according to the report on Sacnilk. Analysing the occupancy figures, the morning shows had a 17.72% occupancy rate, the afternoon shows reached 48.80% occupancy, the evening shows hit a peak of 54.77% occupancy, and the night shows recorded an occupancy rate of 36.78% on its first Sunday.

On Sunday, the trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Housefull5 lived up to the name as the movie theatres in the majority were booked. Weekends made the movie gross good earnings. Whereas Eid Al Adha holiday also helped boost the business of the movie.

Although the movie’s social media review isn’t good enough but the earnings are making the movie a box office hit.
