The Hurricanes made quick work of the New Jersey Devils in Round 1, finishing the series in five games, with only a Game 3 double-overtime loss on the road providing any sort of resistance. 27-year-old forward Sebastian Aho had a fantastic series, scoring three power-play goals with five assists, with winger Andrei Svechnikov adding five goals of his own.

Center Dylan Strome added two goals of his own and seven assists for the Caps, who last won the Stanley Cup in 2018.
