Hyundai July Sales Dip Nearly 7, But SUV Share Hits All-Time High
Hyundai Motor India reported total sales of 60,073 units in July 2025, registering a 6.96% decline compared to 64,563 units in the same month last year. The drop was primarily driven by a slowdown in domestic sales, which stood at 43,973 units, down 10.28% from 49,013 units sold in July 2024.
On the export front, the company posted a modest growth of 3.54%, shipping 16,100 units overseas as against 15,550 units during the same period last year.
Despite the overall dip, Hyundai highlighted a significant milestone in its domestic market performance. SUVs accounted for 71.8% of its total domestic sales in July 2025, marking the highest-ever contribution from the segment since the company’s inception in India. The month also coincides with the 10-year anniversary of the Hyundai Creta.
Commenting on HMIL sales, Mr. Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer, HMIL said, “As we celebrate the incredible 10-year journey of Hyundai CRETA in India, we are proud to see it setting new benchmarks in comfort, convenience and performance thereby holding on to the best-selling SUV crown in the Mid-SUV segment, every completed year since its launch in 2015. In the January-July 2025 period too, Hyundai CRETA has further fortified its leadership position amongst SUVs.”
