India Caught in Russian Arms Supply Chain — Intel on Sanctions Evasion
For the first time, a component made in India has been discovered in Russian weaponry, indicating efforts to bypass international sanctions.
New supplies of components from China and North Korea also point to a shift in Russia’s supply chains, Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (HUR) reported on Monday, April 7.

“For the first time, a component of Indian origin — a clock buffer produced by Aura Semiconductor — was found in Russian weapons,” the HUR report states.
The discovery comes as Ukraine’s intelligence portal published information on nearly 200 newly identified parts and components used in six types of Russian weapons.
“Among them are a CRP antenna used in the Shahed drone, a North Korean KN-24 ballistic missile, a computer from the Kh-47 Kinzhal missile, and drones such as the Supercam S350, Gerbera, and Zala,” the report reads.
In the new CRP antennas used in “Geran-2” drones, only two chips were found to be of US origin, signaling Russia’s effort to reduce reliance on Western technology due to sanctions.
According to HUR, modified Shaheds used by Russia in 2025 are equipped with new jamming-resistant antennas marked in Chinese. Of the 15 components inside one such antenna, only two come from American companies — Texas Instruments and Linear Technologies.

Ukraine Cautions Espionage Targeting Its Military Technology
A Ukrainian institution has recorded an uptick in cyberattacks targeting “Ukrainian institutions involved in the development of innovations in the military sector” since February.
Most of the remaining parts were manufactured in China, including transceivers, oscillators, and microchips — such as the main CRP antenna chip produced by Beijing Microelectronics Technology Institute.
Two other components have not yet been identified but are also likely to be of Chinese origin.
In total, the “Weapon Components” section of the War&Sanctions portal has documented 4,672 components found in 164 types of weapons used by Russia against Ukraine.
