India dominates the Passport Power Index, visa-free entry t

According to the latest report of the Henley Passport Index 2025, the indian passport has jumped 8 places from 85th position to 77th position. This is India’s biggest improvement so far in the last six months. In this index, the strength of the passport is measured on the basis of how many countries it facilitates visa-free or visa-on-arrival travel. India’s passport holders can now travel to 59 countries without visa or with visa-on-arrival, which was earlier limited to 57 countries. This achievement reflects India’s growing global dynamism and diplomatic relations.

The most powerful passport in the world

Singapore tops the Henley Passport Index. Singapore’s passport tops the list with visa-free travel to 193 countries. It is followed by Japan, south korea whose passports allow entry to 190 countries. Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, spain (189 countries) are in third place. On the other hand, Afghanistan’s passport is the weakest with 26 countries. india has moved up to 77th place in the Passport Index and has visa-free access to 59 destinations.Although india had seen a drop to 85th place in january this year, this improvement in the July 2025 report reflects India’s diplomatic success.
