India High Commission Invites Sierra Leonean Content Creators for India Familiarization Tour
As part of a major cultural exchange and digital diplomacy initiative, the Indian High Commission in Sierra Leone has invited three of the country’s top content creators to participate in the India Familiarization Tour 2025.
The fully funded tour is being organized by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs — specifically through the External Publicity and Public Diplomacy Division, and the External Language Media Section.
Representing Sierra Leone on this prestigious tour are:
Sallu Kamuskay, CEO and Founder of Salone Messenger, a digital media platform focused on inspiring Sierra Leonean stories and profiling changemakers;
Sarah Kallay, CEO of the Sarah Kallay Blog, known for her insights into culture, lifestyle, and current affairs;
Aaron Parker, Editor and Team Lead at Sierra Loaded, one of the country’s leading online news and entertainment platforms.
They will join content creators from Benin, Cameroon, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, DR Congo, Ghana, Liberia, Namibia, Nigeria, São Tomé, South Africa, and Togo. The group is scheduled to arrive in India on May 21 and return on May 29, 2025, during which they will explore some of the country’s most iconic historical monuments and cultural landmarks.
Speaking on the significance of the initiative, Neeraj K. Saini, Head of Chancery at the Indian High Commission, praised Sierra Leone’s vibrant digital media space. “The popularity and professionalism of Sierra Leonean social media content creators is commendable,” he said. “They are doing great work in raising awareness on various important issues.”
Mr. Saini further emphasized the growing partnership between India and Africa through digital platforms. “Our bonding with social media content creators and their familiarization visit to India will strengthen our relations,” he added. “They may contribute a lot in making local people aware of India and what India is doing for the people of Sierra Leone.”
The India Familiarization Tour is a strategic effort to enhance people-to-people ties and promote India’s cultural diplomacy on the African continent. Participants are expected to share their experiences across digital platforms, bridging cultures and amplifying the India-Africa narrative through storytelling and visual engagement.
This initiative marks another step in India’s commitment to nurturing global friendships and empowering African voices in the global digital space.
