India, Qatar Eye Deeper Trade & Investment Cooperation
New Delhi, Aug 29 (KNN) Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday met Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs, Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Sayed, to discuss bilateral trade, investment opportunities and broader economic cooperation.
During the meeting, Sitharaman highlighted the reforms and policy measures undertaken by India over the past decade to attract foreign investment.
Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral trade and investment relations under the framework of the India-Qatar strategic partnership, the Finance Ministry said in a post on X.
The Qatari delegation conveyed optimism about investment prospects in India, citing the country’s sustained economic growth and advances in technology.
Separately, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary also held discussions with Al-Sayed and his delegation.
Discussions focused on expanding business opportunities, encouraging investments in emerging sectors and reinforcing bilateral economic ties.
