India’s diabetic care device market expected to grow by 4% through 2033, ET HealthWorld

London: Amid the rising cases of diabetics in India driven by rapid urbanization, lifestyle changes, and increased rates of obesity, the associated device market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4 per cent through 2033.

According to a recent estimate from GlobalData, due growing awareness, people are getting inclined towards proactive diabetes management through technology adoption and better access to information and considering these factors India’s diabetes care devices market is set to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 4 per cent through 2033.”

Advancements in artificial intelligence (AI)-driven solutions are also expected to enhance diabetes care in the country, it added.

Commenting over the possibility of AI-driven devices for diabetic care Shreya Jain, Medical Devices Analyst, GlobalData, said, “AI represents the future of diabetes management, promising significant improvements in patient outcomes. While current AI applications show great potential, substantial advancements are still needed. Future innovations must focus on achieving accuracy, precision, user-friendliness, and minimal human intervention to fully realize AI’s transformative power in diabetes care.”

As of 2024, India accounted for around 20 per cent of the Asia-Pacific (APAC) diabetes care devices market.

The updated gross figures of the entire diabetic device market is not available but according to GlobalData, the India insulin delivery market was valued at $1.02 billion in 2024, while the glucose monitoring market was at $56.3 million in 2024.
