India’s Environment Minister Yadav pays courtesy call on PM Oli :: RSS :: Setopati

India’s Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Friday.

During the meeting held at the prime minister’s residence in Baluwatar, Minister Yadav thanked PM Oli for inviting India to the Sagarmatha Sambaad (Sagarmatha Dialogue) event held in Kathmandu. He said everyone’s attention should be drawn toward the protection of Sagarmatha (Mt Everest) as it is the roof of the world.

Similarly, PM Oli thanked Minister Yadav for his participation and message-oriented speech in the inaugural session of the event. The prime minister proposed that Nepal, India, Bangladesh and other countries also hold such conferences at the regional level on issues such as protection of the Himalayas and environmental impacts of burning crop residues.

Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava; the prime minister’s chief advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal and economic development advisor Yubaraj Khatiwada, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and others also attended the meeting.
