- India’s highest-paid model, gave tough competition to Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, worked with Sridevi, but his career was ruined after…, he is..
In the 1991s, when Bollywood was introducing new actors, a name flashed, who appeared in just one film and never got another chance.
Modelling has always been a pathway for actors and actresses to work in Bollywood. While many know about the top model-turned-actresses such as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Sushmita Sen and more, not many people know about India’s highest-paid model. In the 1991s, when Bollywood was introducing new actors, a name flashed, who appeared in just one film and never got another chance.
This man is known as India’s highest paid model. He gave tough competition to actors such as Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan. Not just that, he has also worked with late actress Sridevi. If you are wondering who this person is, then we are talking about Deepak Malhotra.
If reports are to be believed, he was the ambassador of Vimal brand and also the most expensive model. It is said that he used to charge Rs 1.50 lakh for doing advertisements in the year 1987.
Deepak was one of the top models in India in the late-80s. After his first modeling assignment took off, he started to get more offers and was counted among India’s biggest models. Later, he received offers from films too. He went for a supporting role in Yash Chopra’s Lamhe. However, the movie was a failure. The movie featured Anil Kapoor and Sridevi. Deepak played a small role as Sridevi’s husband.
While other actors earned praise in Lamhe, it was just Deepak who was criticised for his role, which eventually ruined his career.
