India’s iconic ethnic fashion brand Fabindia unveils flagship Colombo store at Havelock City Mall

Fabindia, India’s most iconic ethnic lifestyle brand known for its celebration of artisanal heritage, sustainable fashion, and conscious living, officially opened its first store in Sri Lanka with a glamorous launch event at Havelock City Mall. The event was graced by Chief Guest, Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha, Fabindia representative and a select gathering of high-profile guests, media, and prominent members of Colombo society, marking the arrival of a brand that depicts timeless craftsmanship and responsible consumption.
Fabindia, one of India’s largest private retail platforms for sustainable fashion, was established in 1960 and links more than 55,000 farmers and rural craftsmen with international markets. Fabindia, which is well-known for its dedication to natural materials, ethical sourcing, and community empowerment, provides a wide range of products, from stylish home décor and lifestyle items to clothing made of organic cotton and silk.
The brand’s earthy and welcoming design ethos is reflected in the new Colombo store, which combines the warmth of Sri Lankan culture with Indian handmade aesthetics. Its carefully chosen collection features both Fabindia’s distinctive ethnic clothing and a range of high-end western clothing that is adapted to local preferences. Guests at the launch were treated to an exclusive preview of Fabindia’s Sri Lanka collection, specially designed for the local market.

The store will feature handcrafted ethnic and contemporary Western apparel for women and men, bags and accessories, artisanal home décor, wellness products, and more. Fabindia has now opened its doors at Havelock City Mall, Colombo, Sri Lanka, marking a significant milestone for the brand.
