IndiGo Launches Direct Delhi-Itanagar Flight, Enhances Air Connectivity To Arunachal Pradesh

IndiGo launched a new direct flight between Delhi and Itanagar on Wednesday, enhancing air connectivity to Arunachal Pradesh. The inaugural flight at Donyi Polo Airport was received with a water cannon salute, marking the beginning of the service.

According to Airport Director P Narendra, the flight will operate three times a week—Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays—alongside existing services on other days. Flight 6E 765 departs Delhi at 9:40 am, reaching Itanagar at 12:20 pm, while the return flight 6E 766 leaves Itanagar at 12:50 pm, arriving in Delhi at 3:45 pm.

Civil Aviation Minister Balo Raja termed the launch a historic step for Arunachal Pradesh and thanked the Ministry of Civil Aviation and airline partners for their support.

As part of the celebration, the Airports Authority of India observed ‘Yatri Sewa Diwas’ at the airport with cultural programs, including traditional tikka application and folk dance performances for passengers. A tree-planting ceremony, attended by Education and Tourism Minister PD Sona, highlighted the blend of cultural heritage and environmental awareness accompanying the new flight service.
