Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Ministry of Transportation is calling for global maritime collaboration through the Indonesia Maritime Week (IMW) 2025, positioning the event as a forum for international cooperation, exchange of ideas, and strengthening the sustainable maritime sector.
“I believe the Indonesia Maritime Week 2025 will be a very good start, which means stronger initiative and cooperation,” the ministry’s Secretary General Antoni Arif Priadi stated at the opening of the IMW 2025 in Jakarta on Monday.
He therefore invited the global community to use the IMW 2025 as a forum for sharing ideas, establishing concrete cooperation, and promoting sustainable maritime partnerships.
He described the forum as a strategic opportunity to strengthen international collaboration, facilitate mutual learning, and build a strong and mutually beneficial foundation for maritime sector cooperation.

The forum opens possibilities for the younger generation and skilled workers to get access to maritime jobs and develop competencies in facing the challenges posed by globalization in the marine industry.
Maritime collaboration is viewed as essential for establishing safe, fast, and adaptive global logistics supply chains to support the growth of international trade and regional economic stability.
The Ministry of Transportation also emphasized the importance of gender equality in developing the marine sector and stressed the need for women’s active participation in all areas of Indonesia’s maritime industry.
Through global cooperation and continuous innovation, Indonesia is committed to becoming a reliable and inclusive maritime hub that contributes to achieving sustainable development goals.

“Hopefully, Indonesia Marketing Week will mark the beginning of a new chapter in the journey of our maritime sector,” she remarked.
