Innovative Initiative “Murti Aamchi Kimat Tumchi” Brings Affordable Ganesha Idols To Pune Citizens – Pune Media

Pune, 10th September 2023: As the city of Pune gets adorned with vibrant and captivating Ganpati Bappa idols of various sizes and colors, the price tags on these artistic creations often put them out of reach for many. Even young children have their hearts set on bringing home a sizable idol of their beloved deity. Recognizing this desire and aiming to make it a reality for all, the ‘Murti Aamchi Kimat Tumchi’ initiative has been launched by Pralhad Gavali Mitra Parivar in Pune.

MNS city convener Prahlad Gavali spearheaded this endeavor in Sunday Peth. The event commenced with MNS president Raj Thackeray performing the aarti. To kick off the initiative, Ganesha idols were presented to five citizens by the dignitaries themselves.

This year, a remarkable 7,500 Ganesha idols will be made accessible to the public. These idols come in various forms and sizes, and citizens have the unique opportunity to determine the price they are willing to pay for the idol. They can then place this amount in a kalash (donation pot). The dedicated efforts of individuals like Sainath Chakor, Hemant Kanthale, Naresh Devkar, Jeevan Gaikwad, Vikram Lagad, Gaurav Gawli, Bhai Katre, Shriraj Pawar, and Vikas Gawli have been instrumental in bringing this initiative to life.

Prahlad Gavali shared that the initiative has been ongoing since the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. This year marks the third anniversary of this heartwarming initiative, which has been garnering an overwhelmingly positive response from the community. With the recent surge in the prices of Ganesha idols, many families find it challenging to afford larger idols, despite children’s fervent desires. To bridge this gap, the ‘Murti Aamchi Kimat Tumchi’ initiative not only offers affordable idols but also provides a free idol to those in need.

Adding an artistic touch to the event, 101 students from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Military School, managed by Lokseva Pratishthan, created a live portrait of Raj Thackeray. The celebration was further elevated by the performance of the Adimaya Dhol Tasha Band from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Military School, conducted by Lokseva Pratishthan.
