The conference reviewed flagship schemes like Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY), Fisheries Infrastructure Development Fund (FIDF), and Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samridhi Sah-Yojana (PM-MKSSY).Chairing the event, Dr. Abhilaksh Likhi, Secretary (Fisheries), announced that drone technology would soon be deployed to transport live fish in tough terrains, while satellite systems will enhance fisher safety through real-time resource mapping and identification tools. He stressed the development of smart harbours, modern fish markets, and AI-backed innovations aligned with green and blue economy principles.

Key initiatives discussed included pilot projects for 70 kg payload fish-transport drones, digital registration campaigns through the National Fisheries Digital Platform (NFDP), and adoption of ReALCraft monitoring, seaweed farming, and artificial reefs.

Officials also urged states to promote ornamental fisheries, ensure wider awareness of aquaculture insurance under PM-MKSSY, and bridge institutional credit gaps by sensitizing banks on tech-driven aquaculture models. The event underscored that digital tools, financial inclusion, and infrastructure upgrades will be central to transforming India’s fisheries ecosystem.
