Irish music festival set March 22 in Minerva

Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce will showcase music from Ireland and Scotland in a 7 p.m. event March 22 at the Roxy Theatre.

The 12th annual Evening of Celtic Music and Dance will feature traditional to contemporary music, performed on Uilleann pipes, bouzouki, fiddle, penny whistle, guitar, bodhran and vocals, as well as the Eternity Irish Dance Troupe from North Canton’s A Time to Dance studio.

Musicians will include traditional Irish band Bealtaine from Pittsburgh, and such performers as Tom Freeland and Jim GraySmith. Bealtaine received second place Best World or International Music Group Best of Pittsburgh 2023 and 2024, and third place Best Folk Group.

Traditional Irish and Scottish baked goods, including shortbread, scones and whiskey cake, will be available by donation, and chances will be sold for a Celtic raffle basket.

Tickets are $10 each and are available at the Chamber office, 203 N Market St., or at minervachamber.ticketspice.com/an-evening-of-celtic-music-dance. Unless the event is a sellout, tickets will be available at the door.

All proceeds will benefit continued improvements at the Roxy, 114 N. Market St. in historic downtown Minerva. For more information, call 330-868-7979 or email denise.freeland@minervachamber.org.
