Is ‘I’m Still Here’ Streaming? Here’s How To Watch

Actor Fernanda Torres’ Oscar nomination for “I’m Still Here” continues a family legacy.

The actor’s mother, Fernanda Montenegro, who also stars in “I’m Still Here,” received an Oscar nomination for best actress in the 1999 film “Central Station.”

This makes Torres and Montenegro the only two Brazilian nominees for the best actress Oscar. The two were also nominated in the Golden Globe category for best actress in a motion picture (drama), which Torres won earlier this year.

Torres paraphrased her mom’s reaction to her Golden Globe win during an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

“After the award, she was being interviewed, and she told the journalist, ‘You know, I’m 95 years old and I lived to see it.’ It’s beautiful,” Torres said.

The movie is based on Marcelo Rubens Paiva’s book, in which he recorded his late mother Eunice Paiva’s experiences during Brazil’s military dictatorship. Torres plays Paiva in the 1970s; Montenegro is Paiva at an older age.

Torres dedicated her Golden Globe win to her mother. “She was here 25 years ago and this is like a proof that art can endure through life,” she said in her Golden Globes acceptance speech.

“I’m Still Here” is one of two foreign movies nominated in the best picture category, along with “Emilia Perez,” which racked up 13 nominations at this year’s awards, the most of any films.

How to watch ‘I’m Still Here’

The film had a limited release in the United States on Jan. 17. According to Sony Pictures, “I’m Still Here” is playing in select theaters nationwide.

As of the time of publication, Sony Pictures has not released streaming information for “I’m Still Here.” The film is listed as “coming soon” to Apple TV.
