A production version of the Jaguar Type 00 electric car concept is expected to break cover by the end of 2025.
A few months ago, Jaguar announced that it will be turning into a fully-electric luxury car brand. This was followed by a woke advertising campaign and the unveiling of its first electric car concept that turned out to be highly polarising. It has now been learnt that the Type 00 EV concept will soon land in India.
After making its first public appearance in Miami, the concept has been on a world tour starting with Paris, followed by London and currently in Monaco. It will then head to Munich, and Tokyo before reaching Mumbai where it will be showcased at the Jio Convention Centre. The ’00’ signifies zero emissions and a full overhaul for the Tata Motors-owned luxury carmaker.

The design of the Type 00 concept is definitely polarising if not controversial. It ditches everything that one normally associates with a Jaguar.The concept car sports a boxy design, yet retains classic GT proportions, including a long bonnet and a coupe-like taper at the rear. The cabin is positioned toward the back, while the front end features an upright stance complemented by sleek headlamps.

Despite its low-slung profile, the vertical front grille may evoke mixed opinions. At the rear, the taillights are centrally integrated into the bodywork, and notably, there is no rear glass.

Inside, the Jaguar Type 00 concept features a minimalist interior design, with the driver and passenger areas separated by a raised center console. The cabin includes two large, fold-away displays, and the in-car experience can be customized using three distinct ‘totems’: Brass, Travertine, and Alabaster. According to Jaguar, these totems allow users to personalize elements like screen graphics, ambient lighting, and other interior settings to create a tailored atmosphere.

Jaguar Type 00 concept: Battery specs
Jaguar has yet to disclose specific battery specifications or technical details for the Type 00 concept. However, the company has confirmed that the production version will offer an impressive range of 770 km on a full charge. With fast charging, it can achieve up to 321 km of range in just 10 minutes.
The Type 00 concept is built on Jaguar’s new JEA platform, a dedicated architecture for electric vehicles that will serve as the foundation for all upcoming EVs from the brand. Production of the Type 00 is set to begin soon, with a global market launch planned for 2026.
