John Cockerill India appoints Frederic Martin as new MD, ETEnergyworld

John Cockerill India on Friday announced the appointment of Frederic Martin as its new Managing Director (MD), effective 1 August, 2025, according to a official press release.

The decision, based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, was approved by the company’s Board of Directors at its meeting held on 29 July, 2025, subject to the necessary approvals from shareholders and the central government.

Martin will take the primary objective of building upon and advancing the growth strategy successfully implemented under the leadership of his predecessor, Michael Kotas, who will transition to a new role within the John Cockerill Group.

In addition to his new responsibilities as MD for John Cockerill India, Martin will continue to serve as Vice-President Metals at John Cockerill Industry, leveraging his extensive global expertise and strategic insights to further strengthen the company’s position in the vital Indian market.

Previous Experience

Frederic Martin holds a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from ENSAM (Ecole Nationale Sup des Arts et Metiers). His journey with John Cockerill commenced in 2005 as the General Manager of CMI Thermline, leading to his promotion to Vice-President Operations.

Throughout his career, Martin has held key international leadership positions within the John Cockerill Group. In 2009, he relocated to Beijing, China, where he served as General Manager for seven years.
