Joint Japan, World Bank Graduate Scholarship 2025


   

SRINAGAR: The Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship programme is inviting applications from citizens of developing countries who possess relevant professional experience contributing to their nations’ development efforts. The scholarships support master’s degree studies in fields related to development.

It offers scholarships for 41 participating master’s programmes across 24 universities in the United States, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and Japan. Areas of focus include economic policy management, tax policy, and infrastructure management.

The application process is currently open and the deadline to apply is May 23, 2025.

The eligibility criteria involve that citizen must be of a developing country that is a member of the World Bank. Candidates must not hold dual citizenship in any developed country, must hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) obtained at least three years prior to the application deadline. Candidates should have a minimum of three years of paid, development-related work experience (exceptions may apply for individuals from fragile or conflict-affected states).

The scholarship benefits include, economy-class airfare between the scholar’s home country and the host university, along with a travel allowance of USD 600. Coverage of tuition fees and basic medical insurance provided through the university, and a monthly stipend to cover accommodation, food, and other living expenses.
