Jon Bernthal’s critically acclaimed war movie, Fury, is finally heading to Netflix. The action-packed thriller was written and directed by David Ayer.
The full list of what’s coming to Netflix in November 2026 reveals that Fury was added to the streamer at the first of the month. Originally released in 2014, Fury stars Bernthal with Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman and Michael Peña, all portraying members of an American tank crew fighting in Nazi Germany in World War II. The film’s addition to Netflix gives even more people around the world the chance to view the film, which has already earned its fair share of critical acclaim over the last 12 years.
Jon Bernthal Stars as a WWII Tank Loader in David Ayer’s Fury, Now on Netflix
Set in April 1945, Fury‘s story sees the Allies making a final push in the European theater, all led by tank commander Don “Wardaddy” Collier (Pitt). With his five-man crew, Wardaddy and the rest of the soldiers find themselves going behind enemy lines, where they’re terribly outnumbered and outgunned. Against all odds, the crew must make their move against the Nazis.
When creating Fury, Ayer was influenced by military veterans from his own family as well as books like Belton Y. Cooper’s Death Traps – which emphasized the high casualty rates that American tank crews like Wardaddy’s suffered in combat when going up against the Germans, who were often much better equipped. As a result, Fury is a heartfelt underdog story with incredibly high stakes, where one German tank can easily rip through its American counterparts without hesitation.
The realism and grit of Fury‘s story is one of the main reasons the film continues to resonate with audiences over the years. The film remains Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a 75% approval score from over 260 critics’ reviews. “Overall, Fury is a well-acted, suitably raw depiction of the horrors of war that offers visceral battle scenes but doesn’t quite live up to its larger ambitions,” the site’s consensus reads.
While some critics may have felt that Fury wasn’t able to reach its full potential, audiences haven’t minded. From over 100,000 user ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, Fury boasts an even higher Popcornmeter of 84%, and recent reviews praise the story for its acting and emotional story.
“Fury is hard-hitting, well acted and keeps the audience watching throughout due to its captivating action sequences and gritty feel,” a 4-star audience review from August 2026 reads. “For what it lacks in character depth and story background it delivers everywhere else. Interestingly, with its star-studded cast the focal point is held together brilliantly by Logan Lerman, who takes the film emotionally to the next level. Great watch.”
